Water Polo on the up in Scottish waters
Dunfermline and Warrender meet in the Scottish Under-21 Cup on Saturday at the pool at Edinburgh University's centre of Excellence.
The final takes place as news breaks that Scotland could enter a team for the Commonwealth Tournament in Singapore in 2010.
The sport is enjoying renewed interest in Scotland, and is producing quality players. For instance, Dunfermline's British youth player Ali Campbell, who captains the Dunfermline Under-21 side, is on a water polo scholarship at university in America. Dunfermline recently became the first Scottish team to win the ASA Under-16 Cup.
Inclusion in the Commonwealth event would be a huge boost for the Scottish sport - and a great incentive for all the up-and-coming young players.
