

Dunfermline marginally lose out in ASA Under-19 Cup final
Dunfermline’s youngsters put up a great fight before going down to an agonising 10-9 defeat from English side Invicta in the ASA Under-19 Cup final in Manchester.
Invicta opened the scoring, but the Fifers hit back to tie the score at 2-2 after the first quarter. The second quarter followed exactly the same pattern with teams ending the first half of the match tied at 4-4.
The third quarter was the decisive one. Dunfermline lost two goals in quick succession without reply before goals were scored by each side. With Invicta winning the quarter 4-3 they had edged ahead 8-7 going into the final quarter.?
Dunfermline started the last period strongly and with five minutes to play had tied the match at 9-9. Chances were missed by both sides before Invicta scored the decisive goal with just over one minute left on the clock.
Throughout the match goalkeeper Jake Hinley had a string of fantastic saves as he continued the form that had helped Dunfermline reach the final.
Lewis Dawson scored a hat-trick for Dunfermline and the other scorers - two-a-piece - were Lewis Don, Darren Campbell and Andrew Woodall.
