Troon Fly Flag

Troon PA fly the British flag in Europe this week when they travel to Spain to face Universidad de Burgos in the second round of the European Challenge Cup.

As Britain's only representatives in Europe, coach Vince Krawczyk is aware of of the task ahead.

"This team finished fifth in the Spanish League last season and have two Brazilian players, a Peruvian and a Ukrainian in their ranks," he pointed out.

"So we know it is going to be hard and we just have to try and get under their skins and hope to keep the tie alive for next week's second leg in Ayr."

Krawczyk is taking a squad which includes four teenagers - Sarah Robertson (18), Steph McCall (17), Hannah Grant (17) and Hazel Gow (18).

"The first aim is to compete but the second is to make sure every player has some court time as they have made a big commitment to travel."
