Edinburgh's Shauna Mullin and English partner Zara Dampney are guaranteed a top 20 finish at the final FIVB World Beach tour event of the year in Phuket, Thailand.

The British pair lost their opening match in the main draw 18-21 13-21 to Swiss pair Simone Kuhn and Nadine Zumkehr but bounced back to beat Thailand's Usa Tenpaksee and Jarunee Sannok 21-18 28-26.

Earlier, Mullin and Dampney camea through the qualifying event.

They took just 25 minutes to defeat Malaysia pair Chiew Lee and Poh Hong 21-10 21-6 but then had to work hard to overcome Canadians Julie Rodrigue and Katherine Zakrzewski 21-23 21-16 15-13.
