Test for GB sides
GB men and women preparing for World Championships
The Great Britain teams face a measure of their current standing when they make their respective debuts at the World Championships in Sheffield this week.
The GB men's team, who have lost only once at home all year, take on Israel and Belarus in their World Championship group.
With future funding still in doubt, it is crucial that the team perform above expectations as they seek to progress further in the competition.
The GB women's team are in a four-team group which also includes Israel, Portugal and Montenegro as they seek to enhance their reputaton after beating Nigeria and Austria in recent weeks.
Scottish players are well represented in both teams as the Scottish Volleyball Association's programme of development bears fruit.
