Portugal gain revenge on GB in Euro League
Following breakthrough victories over Portugal and Greece last weekend, the GB men's team - including Scots Mark McGovern, Paul Glissov, Andy Benson, Jonny Herley and Chris Lamont - suffered two defeats in the latest round of the Euro League in Rotterdam.
After a close first set, the home side from Netherlands defeated the British side 25-23 25-13 25-11. In the second match, Portugal exacted revenge.
Despite trailing in every set, the Portuguese managed to win in straight sets 25-19 25-23 25-21.
The league is proving to be a valuable international experience for the relatively inexperienced GB side. Even at this stage, everything is geared towards cultivating a side that will perform with pride at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
