New Scotland men's coach Simon Loftus will face his first test at the Novotel Cup in Luxembourg on January 8-10.

Scotland will face a difficult challenge in the competition as they build towards the European "C" Championships in Andorra in May.

"THe Novotel Cup is a tournament which will be an ideal opportunity for the team to come together and prepare for a good level tournament as well as giving me a chance to put my stamp on the team," Loftus said.

"This tournament will go a long way to forming some of the performance goals for the international season in May. In the mean time my focus will be on developing the squad identity, systems and style of play for the team."
