No local winners at Open
USA Athletes regained the men's title at the 23rd Scottish Open in Perth.

The American students, who lost to Kilmarnock in last year's final but are previous winners, beat Team Caledonia, a select from the Scottish national team, 25-21 19-25 15-10 in the final.

The women's title also went outside Scottish borders with the English Universities beating Troon PA 25-21 25-19 in the final.

It was another successful event with 111 teams taking part and over 1,000 players involved in the two-day tournament.

"We had students from Milan University - who had read about the tournament on the internet - turning up and the weather was kind to us over the two days," said tournament director Dave Munro.
