Mullin and Johns making waves on beach circuit
Former Scotland indoor international Shauna Mullin and English partner Denise Johns reached the main draw of an FIVB World Beach tour event for the second time.
The British pair came through rounds of qualifying in the event in Myslowice, Poland.
Mullin and Johns beat Norwegians Cindy Treland and Birgitte Blitzner 21-17 21-14 in first round qualifying and then Austrians Chrisi Gschweidl and Barbara Hansel 19-21 21-14 18-18 to book their place.
The pair then strecthed number five seeds Ann Hakedal Nila and Torlen Ingrid (Norway) in the first round before narrowly losing out 21-17 15-21 17-19.
Mullin and Johns then lost to Swiss pair Nadine Zumkehr and Muriel Graessli 15-21 20-22 in the play-off for minor places.
