Great Britain men suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Slovakia in the European League at the weekend, losing 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-16) in Zilina.
The British team, that included the Scots Chris Lamont, Mark McGivern and Jonny Herley, came under fire right from the start against a strong Slovakian team that pummeled them with powerful serving whilst containing the GB attack with some impressive blocking.
GB coach Harry Brokking said: “We knew that the competition would be tough. The other teams are a lot stronger and much more experienced. They have been playing and training as a unit for much longer than we have.”
