City of Edinburgh narrowly missed out on winning the Dynamo Cup at Queensferry High School as Leeds Carnegie took the trophy south.

In the curtain-raiser to the new season, Leeds lost their final match to Glasgow Ragazzi but edged out Edinburgh on set difference.

But Edinburgh will take a lot from the tournament having beaten main Scottish rivals Kilmarnock and Ragazzi
