Edinburgh's Robin Miedzybrodzki and English partner Tom Lord lost out in the final round of qualifying at the latest FIVB World beach tour event in Rome.

The GB pair went down 17-21 15-21 to Jaroslav Pavlas and Miroslav Svoboda from the Czech Republic.

The pair were hoping to make the main draw to pick up some grand prix points.

Fellow Brits Steve Grotowski and Gregg Weaver reached the main draw but failed to make the top 20.
