Universities lead the way in New Year fitness push
Edinburgh and Glasgow Universities are holding winter sports fairs encouraging students to use sport as the best method of a New Year detox.
Glasgow are running a Free Fitness Fun Day on Wednesday 21 January 2009, 1200 – 1830 in the Stevenson Building.
The event is open to all students and staff at the University of Glasgow - you do not need to be a member of Sport and Recreation to attend!
The purpose of the Fitness Fun Day is to invite all our University community to come along and try our facilities and services, in the New Year, and see what sport and recreation can do for you!
Meanwhile Edinburgh are holding their second sports fair of 2009 on Wednesday 14th February at the CSE Pleasance Main Sports Hall at 11am, offering students a second look at all the clubs and activities available through the university.
As the Edinburgh Sports Union says: “You have NOTHING to lose, bar a few pounds of pudding and can only gain from meeting new people and turning your hand to something new.”
