Wins for Giffnock and Dunfermline

Giffnock and Dunfermline won the respective Men’s and Women’s Aegon Scottish Cup titles at Craiglockhart after the weather forced the organisers to move the finals indoors.

Giffnock, skippered by Owen Hadden and featuring former Davis Cup players Alan Mackin and Colin Fleming, defeated holders Stirling University 5-3.

Meanwhile Dunfermline, with Alison Reid as captain, continued their domination of the ladies competition as Newlands were vanquished 5-2. This is the 17th win for Dunfermline in the competition.
