Andy Murray calls on expertise of clay court specialist Alex Corretja
Andy Murray has again drafted in former world number two Alex Corretja to assist with his clay court season.
Corretja, who now works as a television commentator, was twice a beaten finalist at Roland Garros and advised Murray last season, alongside his full-time coach Miles Maclagan.
Murray has been given a first round bye for the Monte Carlo Masters but faces the prospect of taking on Rafael Nadal, the four-time French Open champion, in the semi-final.
He will play either Victor Hanescu or Alberto Martin in the second round and if the draw goes according to seedings, would play Marin Cilic in the third round and Nikolay Davydenko, of Russia, in the quarter-finals.
However, the British number one has never previously been past the third round in Monaco, although knows a good run could mean he overtakes Novak Djokovic as world number three.
"I know that I can play well on clay," said Murray, who has already won three ATP Tour titles this season, including the recent Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.
"I used to play very well on it when I was younger. But it takes time to get used to the surface and that's why it is good that Monte Carlo is not a mandatory event as I won't have had a lot of time to prepare for it.
"I need to get used to playing on it again, get used to all the different sort of skills needed on clay which you don't necessarily use on hard courts.?
