Andy Murray to face Starace at Roland Garros
Andy Murray will play Italy's Potito Starace in the second round of the French Open at Roland Garros on Wednesday.
The British number one, who crushed Juan Ignacio Chela in his first round match on Sunday, has never played the 27-year old, who served a six-week suspension last year after his minor involvement in a betting scandal.
Starace didn't have to work too hard against Germany's Mischa Zverev.
He lost the first set on a tie-break but hit back to claim the second set 7-5. However, Zvarev retired early in the third to give Starace a walkover win.
Feliciano Lopez, who is seeded to play Murray in the third round, beat Brazil's Franco Ferreiro in a marathon five-set tussle.
Unusually for a Spaniard, Lopez is considered more at home on hard courts and he had to work for his progress after losing the first two sets.
He finally advanced 6-7, 4-6, 7-6, 7-5, 6-2 in a match that lasted over fourhours.
