Nicola Slater bowed out of the ITF $10,000 event in Sumter, South Carolina, at the second round stage.

The Ayr player, now based full-time in America, lost 6-2 6-3 to number five seed Dominika Dieskova (Slovakia) in the last 16.

Slater had earlier beaten American Alexandra Anghelescu 7-5 6-3 in the first round to advance to the next round.

The Scot won her first world ranking points in April when she progressed in a $10,000 event in Argentina.
