Scots struggle at Pro-Series event at Scotstoun
Aberdeen's Claire Binnie failed to make it through the qualifying rounds of the AEGON Pro-Series event at Scotsoun.
Binnie lost 6-2 6-2 in the opening round to Surrey's Anna Smith, seeded eighth in the qualifying event.
There was more bad news for Scottish players with Dunblane's rising star Katie Gater, given a wildcard to the event, had to withdraw through illness.
Austria's Patricia Mayr is favourite to win the title.
Elgin's Keith Meisner was given a wildcard in the men's qualifying event but had to pull out through injury giving fellow-Brit Rogan Egerton a place in the second round.
