Murray makes winning return to Queen's

Andy Murray insists he is taking the grass-court season one step at a time after returning to action on home soil with a win.

The 22-year-old made his first grass-court appearance of the season at the AEGON Championships at Queen's, teaming up with Lleyton Hewitt to overcome American duo Andy Roddick and Rajeev Ram 12-10 in a decisive champions tie-break after each pair had won a set 6-3.

The Scot has been installed as top seed at Queen's in the absence of world number one Rafael Nadal, who has decided to rest up before heading to the All England Club to defend his crown.

No Brit has won at Wimbledon in 32 years but having reached the top three in the world, Murray is expected to end that run sooner rather than later.

But the Dunblane-born star, who will begin his Queen's campaign on Wednesday against Italy's Andreas Seppi, insists he won't be weighed down by the burden of expectation over the next month.

"It's just a tennis match at the end of the day and that's how I approach every game I play," said Murray,.

"I had a pretty good French Open so I'm coming into Queen's full of confidence but I have to expect it will take time to adjust after the clay season.

"Obviously it's beneficial for me that Rafa isn't here but there's no doubting he'll be back.

"We play each other a lot on different surfaces and train together a bit so I'll know what to expect if I meet him at Wimbledon."
