Andy Murray back in action at AEGON Summer County Cup
Just three weeks after his Wimbledon heartache and British No.1 Andy Murray was back in action in the distinctly unglamorous AEGON Summer County Cup.
North of Scotland captain Ian Conway received a phone call from the World No.3 offering his services and Murray was quickly thrown into a doubles match against Hertfordshire.
Teaming up with Owen Hadden, Murray got back to winning ways after his semi-final defeat to Andy Roddick with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over the pair of David and Ed Corrie.
Brother Jamie was also in action for North of Scotland winning one match and losing another with Jonny Pankhurst.
And although Murray could prevent North of Scotland slipping to a 5-4 defeat overall, skipper Conway was delighted with the star's fleeting visit as he prepares for the US Open.
He said: "I was surprised but delighted to get the call from Andy and it says a lot about his character that he wanted to join the North of Scotland men's team and support his country."
