Andy Murray wills crowd to help him through Federer tussle
Andy Murray has vowed to use every advantage he can to ensure victory against world number one Roger Federer in Tuesday night's eagerly anticipated clash.
The Scot claimed one of his six victories over Federer at the same stage 12 months ago and would do anything to pick up his seventh in London.
And many are tipping the British number one to beat the Swiss again after seeing Federer scrape past Spain's Fernando Verdasco in an inconsistent first performance on Sunday.
But while the Scot holds the head-to-head advantage (Federer has beaten him just three times), Murray is adamant he may need the home crowd to pull him through if the going gets tough.
"When I got close to winning at the end of the Del Potro match the atmosphere was excellent," said Murray, who dismissed the Argentinian in three sets in his opening match.
"That's going to make a big difference when things get stick in the next couple of matches.
"I know I could still win two matches and not go through but you've pretty much got to twin two to give yourself a chance.
"So I'm going to try to get it out of the way in my second match, If I can beat Roger I'll put myself in a great position."
