Morven McCulloch crashes out at third round stage in Finland

Morven McCulloch's European Youth Olympic Festival campaign came to an end as she crashed out at the third round stage in Finland yesterday.

The St Andrews-based 15-year-old was outgunned by Spain's Silvia Garcia-Jimenez 6-1, 6-3 to miss out on a spot in the last eight at the Ruotula Tennis Centre.

But despite the defeat McCulloch - who trains at Tennis Scotland Adademy - insists she can take positives from the match and has vowed to bounce back to form on her return to the UK.

"I've enjoyed every match I've played here and played well in every one of them so that's something to take heart from," said McCulloch.

"In the first set I was being a bit defensive but in the second set I attacked a bit more and won a few more games.

"I thought I played well overall and kept fighting throughout the whole match so it looks good for the future."
