Jarvis wins Championship with a straight sets victory

Tom Jarvis took revenge for his defeat at the hands of his Connaught team-mate Joe Hall twelve months ago with a straight sets final victory in the Boys' Under-16 final of the Stewart Milne Group North East Indoor Championships at Westburn Tennis Centre.
The Yorkshire youngster won 7-5 6-1 after ending the challenge of Rubislaw's Bruce Strachan 7-5 6-0 in the semi-finals.
Ruaridh Macleod lifted the Under-12 title, defeating Calum Macgeoch (Rothiemurcus & Aviemore) 6-3 6-1 while fellow David Lloyd Monifieth player Sophie Dodds won the girls' singles with a 7-5 6-3 success over Cults youngster Morven Duff.
Morven also reached the final of the Under-16 event where she lost out to Robyn Graham (Kinnoull), 6-3 3-6 1-0 in the closest match of the day.
