Jamie Murray disconsolate after first round exit in France
Jamie Murray's poor run of form continued at the French Open on Thursday as he and partner Pavel Vizner crashed out in the first round.
The elder brother of world No.3 Andy Murray and his Czech partner were beaten 6-3 6-2 by Leos Friedl and David Skoch at Roland Garros.
And the 23-year-old former Wimbledon mixed doubles champion, who has now lost in the first round of a tournament seven times this year, admitted life was a struggle at present.
"It's been a pretty bad time. A real struggle if I'm honest," he said.
"I have played with some good players but it has not really happened for me. Over the last month or so I have struggled with confidence.
"I'm now playing with Pavel Vizner, who is very experienced. But I have not been playing great tennis and we have not been backing ourselves to do much. It's been hard.
"I've got downhearted and it's not got any better and I've become frustrated. In tennis it's not all rosy, even the best players have dips."
