Elena Baltacha went out in the semi-finals of the ITF $50,000 event in St Raphael, France, after suffering a knee injury in her match against Sandra Zahlakova (Czech Republic).

The Scottish number one coasted through the first set 6-2 but then was clearly troubled by the injury in the next two sets.

Zahlakova took full advantage as she cruised through to the final 2-6 6-2 6-1 against the number two seed.

Baltacha had looked impressive in her semi-final against experienced Russian Elena Bovina and came through in straight sets 6-3 3-6 6-2.
