Yesterday was yet another day of glorious sunshine in Edinburgh, and at Craiglockhart one of Scotland’s future stars, Calum Gee, shone brighter than most when he faced no. 3 seed Raphael Durek (AUT).
Gee fought hard and took the world no. 423 to 3 sets, narrowly losing 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
It was a fantastic result for 17 year-old Calum, who tested himself for the first time against senior players.
Calum commented before the match that “it will be a very good experience to see how I get on against the seniors”.
Play continues today. Results and orders of play can be found on www.lta.org.uk/newsroom/results/latestresults
