Gater suffers defeat
Katie Gater bows out of AEGON British tour event
Dunblane's Katie Gater suffered a shock defeat in the AEGON British tour event in Bolton.
Gater, seeded five for the event, went out in the last 16 to unseeded qualifier Chloe Murphy.
The Scot went down in straight sets 6-4 6-2 to miss out on a quarter-final place.
It was a day of surprises with number two seed Elizabeth Ullathorne also crashing out.
