Colin Fleming falls at first hurdle in Eastbourne
Broxburn ace Colin Fleming's below-par start to his grass court singles season continued as he failed to progress past the first round of the AEGON International in Eastbourne.
The 24-year-old has been a revelation in the doubles alongside partner Ken Skupski reaching the final of the AEGON Trophy of Nottingham and making the quarter-finals of Queen's last weekend.
However Fleming has vowed to transfer his doubles form into the singles losing to China's Lu Yen-Hsun, who dumped British No.1 Andy Murray out of the Olympics last summer, at Devonshire Park.
The Scot looked on course for victory after coming from a set down to draw level but lost his nerve in the final set eventually slumping 7-6, 1-6, 6-3.
