Fleming continues impressive doubles form at AEGON International at Eastbourne
Linlithgow's Colin Fleming and Liverpool's Ken Skupski have claimed another major scalp.
The pair, who reached the quarter-finals at Queen's Club last week, beat world number 15s Ricardo Mela and Andre Sa 6-4 4-6 10-8 in the first round of the AEGON International at Eastbourne.
The Brazilian pair reached the final at Queen's Club but Fleming and Skupski underlined just how far they have come in the past year.
They could now meet Jamie Murray and Jonathan Erlich in the quarter-finals.
And after warming-up for Wimbledon with a win in Eastbourne, Fleming is in confident mood.
"Despite the success of the past few weeks we still take it a match at a time," said Fleming.
"We've got three wins at ATP level and now we'll have some top quality opposition in the next round. We've proven that we can play at this level and it?s where we want to stay."
Meanwhile, Elena Baltacha is convinced she now possesses the required ammunition to compete with the world's best despite crashing out of the AEGON International 6-2, 7-5 against China's Li Na.
The Scot said: "I'm not too disappointed with how it went. I learned so much from that match."
