Scottish number one Elena Baltacha seeks to make a mark on the $100,000 international event in Odense, Denmark, this week.

Baltacha, unseeded, has been given a difficult first round draw against the number seven seed Lucie Hradecka, from the Czech Republic.

The two players have never met before but Baltacha is looking for a confidence booster after a difficult year.

Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki is top seed for the event and she started impressively by beating Bulgaria's Dia Evtimova in her opening match 6-2 6-2.
