Nicola Slater and Colombian partner Paula Zabala lost out in the semi-finals of the ITF $10,000 event in Sumter, South Carolina.

The Scot, who had lost out in the second round of the singles, gained some consolation in the doubles with a shock first round victory over the top seeds.

But the Scottish-Colombian pairing then lost to American pair Allie Will and Caitlyn Williams as they sought to reach the final.

The US pair won the first set convincingly but were made to work hard in the second set before going through 6-1 7-5.
