Scottish number one Elena Baltacha is fifth seed for this week's $75,000 LTA event in Barnstaple, Devon.

Baltacha is hoping to make her mark on the event after disappointingly going out in the second round of the recent $75,000 event in Shrewsbury.

She faces Austrian teenager Melanie Klaffner in her opening match, a player ranked more than 100 places below her on the world lists.

British number one Anne Keothavong is top seed having gained a late wildcard entry for the event.
