Scottish number one Elena Baltacha missed out on qualifying for the French Open.  After coming through two qualifying rounds, she faced up to Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova, the top seed in qualifying.  Baltacha struggled to make any impact on her opponent and went down in straight sets 6-2 6-2.  It was disappointing for the Scot who has had a mixed bag of results in recent weeks.
