Baker targets US

Jamie Baker is looking to America after his successful comeback tour in Thailand and Australia saw his world ranking rise from 950 to 346.

He will take part in Challenger events - a step up from the Futures events he has been playing in where he won 31 of 35 singles matches.

“I’m playing at Charlottesville, Virginia this weekend then on to Tennessee and Illinois and all of the events are very much in the heartland of the American collegiate system where the facilities are second to none," he outlined.

"Naturally, my confidence is extremely high at present and if all goes well, I could be in with a chance of making the Australian Open qualifiers at the start of the year which, three months ago, was certainly not on my radar.”
