Elena Baltacha and Colin Fleming given wildcards for main draw at Wimbeldon
Elena Baltacha insists she can be a threat at Wimbledon after receiving a wild card for the main draw of the prestigious event.
The Scot was brimming with confidence after reaching the semi-finals of the AEGON Trophy in Nottingham last week and her imperious form continued at the AEGON Classic in Edgbaston yesterday when she won through to the second round.
The British number two admits she usually saves her best for the grass court season and is adamant she can build on this momentum at the All England Club.
"Depending on how the draw turns out, I think I can do really well," said Baltacha.
"There are definitely some winnable ties and I always seem to play well there so hopefully I'll stay injury-free and win a few matches."
Fellow Scot Colin Fleming also received a wild card from the All England Club for the main draw of the men's doubles.
Fleming, who made his Davis Cup debut in Glasgow last March, will be playing with Liverpool's Ken Skupski and the pair are also in red-hot form, having reached the final of the doubles in Nottingham.
Fleming will be joined in the doubles by Jamie Murray and his partner Israel's Jonathan Erlich.
Both pairs are hoping to get some practice in at the AEGON Championships in Queen's and play their first round matches later today.
