Rumgay fails in qualifying bid
Scottish number one Gavin Rumgay failed in his bid to qualify for the main draw at the Singapore Open.
The Perth player lost two of his three matches in his qualifying group.
Rumgay, ranked 300 in the world, beat Richard Gonzales (Philippines) in his first match 10-12 11-6 11-7 11-5 13-11.
He then went down to Portugal's Tiago Apolonia, ranked 106 in the world, 10-12 11-9 6-11 6-11 8-11.
Rumgay then lost a terrific battle with Denmark's Jakob Asmussen 9-11 8-11 15-17 17-15 10-12.
