Rumgay's Polar Eclipse

Scottish number one Gavin Rumgay missed out on qualifying for the main draw at the Polish Open in Warsaw.

The Perth player suffered a double defeat in his qualifying group.

He went down to Dimitrij Prokopcov from the Czech Republic in his opener 8-11 7-11 11-13 9-11 and was then locked in a seven-game marathon with Poland's Jakub Perek in his next match.

But Rumgay finally went down 9-11 11-9 8-11 13-11 9-11 11-9 7-11 to a player ranked below him in the world lists.

Prokopcov went on to qualify from the group.
