Rumgay starts well against German ace but eventually succumbs
Scottish number one Gavin Rumgay troubled German Torben Wosik, the world number 80, in his preliminary group at the German Open in Berlin.
Rumgay, ranked at number 244 in the world, took the first game against his opponenet but could not sustain the pressure.
He eventually went 11-9 9-11 5-11 5-11 9-11 as Wosik progressed to the last 64.
Rumgay had been given a walkover in his opening match against Hungarian Peter Musko, ranked 293 in the world, when his opponent withdrew through injury.
