Gavin Rumgay eases his way to title at Scottish Senior Assessment tournament
Scottish number one Gavin Rumgay was untroubled as he won the Scottish Senior Assessment tournament at St Matthew's Academy in Saltcoats.
The Perth player did not drop a game as he won all nine matches 3-0 to finish ahead of his main rivals. Niall Cameron scored an upset 3-1 win over Scotland international team-mate Stewart Crawford to take second place.
It gave him revenge for his defeat by Crawford in the previous week's West Open in Glasgow.
In the women's event, Roxanna Milne (Grange) had an upset 3-2 win over former Scottish champion Rebecca Russell (Grangemouth) and she went on to finish second in the event behind Natasha Milliken.
