Edinburgh teenager Craig Howieson reached the last 64 of the world grand prix event in Cetniewo, Poland.
Howieson, a full Scotland international, beat Poland's Jendrzej Malolopszy 3-0 in his opening group match and then booked his place in the last 64 with a 3-2 win over Lithuania's Andrius Preidzius.
But he then faced top seed Kenta Matsudaira (Japan) in the next round and lost out 4-0.
It was a decent tournament for Howieson who also reached the third round of the doubles with England's William Maybanks.
The pair lost to number two seeds Patryk Chojnowski and Pawel Fertikowski 3-0.
