Promising junior Scott Barton underlined his potential by winning the boys' singles title at the Stockton-on-Tees Junior Open.

Barton, who plays for Drumchapel, beat William Morais (Middlesex) 3-2 after coming back from 1-2 down.

He won the deciding game 11-6 to secure a notable title against some of the best young English players.

Drumchapel (Barton, Calum Main and Nathan Courtney) lost 3-2 in the semi-finals of the team event to Weald.
