Swimmer Fraser facing Paralympic World Cup mountain

Warrender Baths swimmer Sean Fraser admitted he will have to overcome the Sam Hynd factor if he is to upset the form guide and bag Paralympic World Cup gold this month.

The 19-year-old will compete solely in the 400m freestyle in Manchester but faces a tough ask to top the podium with Paralympic champion and world recorder Hynd on show.

Beijing silver medallist Peter Leek and bronze medallist Jiachao Wang will also feature according to Fraser with the Scot facing an uphill task to get among the medals.

But Fraser, who claimed bronze in the 100m backstroke in Beijing, is refusing to rule himself out of the running just yet.

"Whenever I get to an event I am always in it to win it and that will be no different in Manchester," said Fraser.

"I know there will be a tough field with Wang, Peter and Sam my three main threats but I wouldn't want it any other way.

"It is great to have Sam there, we know each other really well, we are good friends and it is great to have those rivalries with another British swimmer at a British-based international event."
