Martin selects promising young Scots for European Juniors
Promising Scottish swimmers are bidding to make waves on the continent after Team GB announced their squad for the European Junior Championships in July.
Stirling Swim duo Lucy Ellis and Jak Scott are joined by East Kilbride's Corrie Scott and Thomas Allen from Swim Flintshire to make up the Scotland contingent of the 57-strong team.
The British Gas Junior squad will fly out to Prague, Czech Republic for the five day event after sealing their places following impressive showings at the National Championships in Sheffield in March.
And head coach Chris Martin insists the junior squad can follow in the footsteps the Beijing Olympic success, where Team GB scooped six medals.
"There's been a steady rate of improvement for Britain on the European stage and we want to see that continue with this squad," he said.
"We have to make this a good experience and promote competition within the squad.
"A lot of people swam really fast at the trials, faster than the year before at the March mark and we're hoping they'll continue to take steps forward in Prague."
