New Glasgow elite squad announced

Top Scottish swimmers selected to join elite performance squad
Aberdeen's Olympian Robbie Renwick is included in a new performance squad created to work alongside the City of Glasgow Swim Team.
The other five selections are Daniel Scott, Ben Higson, Ranald Falconer, Scott Houston and Greig Wilkinson.
Set up in a conjunction with Scottish Swimming, Culture and Sport Glasgow and sportscotland, the new Performance squad will be coached by Eileen Adams, the woman who steered 20-year-old Renwick to success during his years with City of Aberdeen.
Adams developed and led the City of Aberdeen Swimming Team until her secondment with Scottish Swimming from Aberdeen City last year. She has a wealth of coaching knowledge and experience and has just returned from the Olympic Games in Beijing.
"After Beijing, I knew that I needed to find somewhere for training that has a 50m pool, and I am delighted to be moving to Glasgow for the foreseeable future," said Adams. "Glasgow is my home town and I could not be more passionate about ensuring Scottish swimmers have the chance of success at the 2012 Olympics in London and the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow."
Ally Whike, Scottish Swimming's Performance Director added: "This is an exciting opportunity for both Eileen and City of Glasgow moving towards the 2012 Olympics and, of course, the Commonwealth Games in 2014
"Eileen will work alongside the current coaches and swimmers contributing to the overall programme. The creation of a performance squad provides the younger swimmers in the club to train alongside some of Scotland's best talent who are competing at the highest levels of the sport."
