Miley looks forward to Nationals

The British Gas Scottish National Championships represent the last chance saloon for a number of GB swimmers looking to reach August's World Championships - but Hannah Miley is not one of them.

The 19-year-old Garioch swimmer has long since known she would be flying the British flag in Rome, having clocked European records in both the 200m and 400m medleys at the British Championships in March.

Miley has continued that excellent form with a number of dominant displays at the three-city Mare Nostrum series this month - taking her to the top of the world rankings.

But while Miley, along with the likes of 400m freestyle world record holder Jo Jackson have confirmed their places on the plane to Rome, a number of others, including Olympic finalist Jemma Lowe, Olympic silver medallist Keri-Anne Payne and double Commonwealth champion Caitlin McClatchey have just one more chance.

And Miley, who will compete in ten events in Glasgow as she continues her intensive training before heading to Rome, expects plenty of records to tumble.

"It's going to be interesting, there is going to be some pretty fast swimming I think," said Miley.

"For me, it's a matter of keeping my training levels high and the best way for me to do that is keeping my volume high and not letting it slip.

"It'll be great because I do really appreciate the home support. When you are up behind the blocks and hear everybody it's a massive confidence boost and it's one of the things I am looking forward to with London 2012 and Glasgow 2014."
