Hannah Miley continuing fine form with record swim in Leeds
Inverurie's Hannah Miley smashed the European 200m medley short course record at the British Gas Grand Prix in Leeds.
Miley, who just missed out on a medal at last week's World Championships in Rome, edged out Canada's Julia Wilkinson to rewrite Francesca Segat's former best mark, touching home in 2.06.70.
"That was a really good swim," she said.
"It was difficult off the back of Rome to keep at that high level but I am keeping it together.
"It was also hard to do it without my dad and coach here, so I am really pleased."
Elsewhere, Andrea Gellan, from the Incas Club in Fife, has successfully completed the challenge of swimming the English Channel.
Starting the epic adventure at around 5am, Andrea (InCAS) completed the swim in 11 hours 35 minutes. This is just 11 minutes off the current Scottish record. She is now the 3rd fastest Scottish swimmer ever to complete the channel.
