Gilchrist seeking to improve medal haul in France
City of Edinburgh's Kris Gilchrist, a gold medallist in the 200m breaststroke at last week's Seven Hills Meet in Rome, will be chasing more glory in this weekend's Canet Meet in France.
Gilchrist's clubmates, Kirsty Balfour and Gregor Tait, will also be continuing the build-up to the Olympic Games at the high-level meet.
Fred Vergnoux, the Edinburgh head coach, has been putting his Beijing-bound charges through their paces at a training camp in Canet for the past few days, week, and then it will be on to Sardinia for more training before returning home for the ASA National Championships in Liverpool early next month.
Robyn Matthews, Iain MacMillan, Michael Jamieson and assistant coach, Chris Jones, are the other Edinburgh swimmers in action this weekend. Scott Houston (Stirling) and Andrew Mayor (City of Newcastle) are the other Scots taking part.
