Kerry out of Europeans

Buchan forced out of Euros due to viral infection
Illness has forced South Aberdeenshire’s Kerry Buchan to pull out of next week’s European short-course Championships in Rijeka in Croatia.
It is another disappointment for the breaststroke specialist who was in a car crash a week before the Olympic trials, and just failed to make Team GB for Beijing.
“Kerry is suffering from a viral infection and there is no way she will be fit enough for the championships,” said her coach, Gary Patterson.
There will now be five Scots competing in the championships from December 11-14 – Kris Gilchrist, Hannah Miley, Robbie Renwick, Lewis Smith and Todd Cooper.
