Kerr returns to action

A veteran swimmer is making waves in the pool again after years away from the sport.

Jonny Kerr, 37, who swam for Scotland in the 1990 and 1994 Commonwealth Games set four Scottish records at the Australian Masters in Brisbane.

Kerr scooped five golds at the event, winning the 50 metres, 100m and 200m backstroke, the 100m breaststroke and the 200m individual medley.

After originally setting up home in Scotland, Kerr moved Down Under with Australian wife Beth and their three children.

"With three kids around, Jonny wanted to try and become really fit again and so he started taking part in triathlon events," said mother Eileen.

"Obviously, his best discipline was the swimming so he decided to enter the Masters. He never expected to do so well."
