Jamie and Jennifer are open water champs
The Scottish Gas National Open Water Championships took place at Lochore Meadows Country Park in Fife and a strong line-up of hardy souls braved the drizzly and cool conditions.

The men's open 5K race was closely contested with Jamie Forrest (Bath University) just getting the gold medal ahead of junior swimmer Mark Deans (City of Glasgow)

Jennifer Davis (Warrender Baths Club), also part of this leading pack, took gold in the women's event with Marnie Stewart (Warrender Baths Club) coming a close second. Junior Megan Donnelly (City of Glasgow) shwed her potential by taking the bronze.

The Age Group Winners were:?13-14 Hannah Grayson (Aberdeen Dolphins) 15-16 Megan Donnelly (City of Glasgow) and Mark Deans (City of Glasgow)?17-24 Jennifer Davis (Warrender Baths Club and Jamie Forrest (Bath University)?25-34Mark O'Connor (Silver City Blues)?35-44 Seonaid Hudson (Haddington); 45-54 Andrea Gellan (InCAS) and Brian Bain (Silver City Blues)

Heavy rain greeted the 2K competitors. Glenn McIntosh (City of Glasgow) snatched the gold in the men’s race ahead of Forrest. Fraser Smith (City of Glasgow) took bronze.

Jennifer Davis (Warrender Baths Club) won the women’t title after a close battle with clubmate, Helen McRoberts, wo was taking part in her first open water competiton.
Megan was again the bronze medallist.

The Age Group Winners were:?13-14 Hannah Grayson (Aberdeen Dolphins) and Kyle Blincow (Dunoon)?15-16 Megan Donnelly (City of Glasgow) and Mark Deans (City of Glasgow)?17-24 Jennifer Davis (Warrender) and Glenn McIntosh (City of Glasgow)?25-34 Elizabeth Toft (Silver City Blues) and Mark O'Connor (Silver City Blues)?35-44 Seonaid Hudson (Haddington) 45-54 Brian Bain (Silver City Blues)

A 1K championship was staged for 12 year olds and there was also a 1K Novice. The girl's 1K champion was Leila Collie (Rutherglen) and the Boy's 1K champion was Cameron Park (Rutherglen).

In her first open water competition, Rhiannon MacKay (Warrender Baths Club) claimed victory in the women's novice and the winner of the men's title was Craig Gowran (Rutherglen).
